3rd Grade - Tecumseh Site
Mrs. Crotty
September 16, 2008
Third Grade is Awesome! There are 15 students in Mrs. Crotty’s class. The past 4 weeks have gone very fast. We have been scientists in science. We are collecting data daily on apples and recording it. After the data collection is complete, we will be having an apple tasting. Different kinds of apples will be available for us to try and we will record data based on which ones are liked the best. In the upcoming week we will be using our data and charting it on graphs. Social Studies has us focusing on “Being an American.” We are learning about the American Flag and the stars and stripes that are on it. Math gives us homework every night, but it is worth it! Some of the things we have learned are how to measure length and width of a rectangle, odd and even numbers, and adding the number10 to two-digit numbers. We did start an art project and it is taking us several weeks, but we should be finished this week. We have art on Friday, so we missed it on the 12th. The next art project we have is related to Social Studies and we will be making an American Flag out of tissue paper. We are having a great time learning and look forward to each new day. These are just a few of the things that have been going on in room 206. We hope you have had a great start to your year!
